DESCRIPTION:\nSRV’s Summer Retreat at Windwood Waters\nSpiritual Transmission from Two Illumined Swamis: Teachings for the West From Vivekananda and Aseshananda\nJune 26 – 30, 2026\nCommencing just a week prior to Swami Vivekananda’s Mahasamadhi, this timely retreat will treat the insightful teachings and advice that two prominent swamis of the Ramakrishna Order transmitted to Westerners, each in his own time. The dove-tailing of these two monks and sannyasins – the 39-year- old Vivekananda embodied just a few years into the twentieth century, and the 93-year-old Aseshananda living almost until the twenty-first century – gave extra and ample time for the teachings of Advaita Vedanta to penetrate into Western thinking. But some of the most salient points of this double transmission have scarcely been deeply contemplated upon, their possible ramifications left unrealized. These form substantial retreat material that will be highly informative for the contemporary mind of spiritually awakening beings.\n\nWindwood Waters Lodge, situated above the Wind River along the Columbia Gorge, is our favorite location for retreats – a peaceful, secluded property, perfect for smaller groups. The Lodge itself is a reminder of simpler days homesteading on forested lands and thus lends itself well to both basic comforts, hiking, and attentive studies.  The great stone fireplace rises up from the sunken reading area, used by students for reading, and warming during winter retreats.\n\nDates: June 26 – 30, 2026\nArrival: Friday, June 26, 4:00pm\nDeparture: Tuesday, June 30, 12:00noon\nAccommodations*: Shared and/or semi private.
