Some Statistics for 2010:
• Babaji & volunteers expect to give 54 classes at 5 prisons.
• Teaching time: over 130 hours
• Travel time: over 148 hours
• Class size varies but each class has 8 to 15 students.
• Throughout the year there are about 55 active students.
• Babaji corresponds with prison students each week via U.S. mail.
SRV presently offers Vedanta at:
Oregon State Penitentiary (OSP), Salem
Coffee Creek Correctional Facility (CCCF), Wilsonville
Two Rivers Correctional Institute (TRCI), Umatilla
Deer Ridge Correctional Institute (DRCI), Madras
Warner Creek Correctional Facility (WCCF), Lakeview
Proceeds will help us:
• Provide over 50 classes for over 50 students
• Provide private meetings with prison students for spiritual guidance
• Establish and enhance Vedanta libraries at 5 – 6 prisons
• Provide spiritual books to indigent students
• Distribute Nectar of Nondual Truth, an interfaith journal, to prison students and libraries
• Correspond with prison students via U.S. mail
• Train qualified volunteers
• Make possible the intangibles: hope, trust, faith, spiritual self-effort, resolve to attain noble goals, purification of mind
