The Hawaii retreat, set for December on the Big Island, will give all SRV devotees and students a rare opportunity to center in on that earliest and most important element of India's multifaceted philosophical perspective.  Our study of Sankhya and its scriptures, though many of them were lost over time, will afford us to connect with its integrality in the darshanas of Yoga, Vedanta and Buddhism.  The Tattva Samasa Sutras will be the main focus, and the profound teachings found therein - such as The Ten Tenets of Sankhya, The Nine Complacencies, and the Eight Great Accomplishments.  Teachings on the twin principles of Purusha and Prakriti will also be transmitted, in conjunction to both their relationship and their distinctions.

Location/Setting: This is a wonderful place: wild, yet cultivated, and set on the grasslands overlooking the ocean.  Native trees - some 300 years old –  dot the sanctuary along with original Hawaiian rock walls, etc.  There are no man-made sounds in this area, except those that we ourselves will make.  It is like being turned loose and back in time to the forest ashramas of ancient India....  And in this special setting we will gather and live together with Babaji for two and a half days of class, meditation, study, peace and solitude.

Retreat Details

Date: Friday, December 17th to Monday, December 20th

Arrivals/Departures:
• Arrive Friday by 5pm, dinner at 6pm.
• Retreat ends around noon on Monday.

Accommodations: Cabins, double occupancy, depending on number of retreatants. Camping is available for those who wish.

Meals: Vegetarian with cheese and eggs. Contact us about food allergies.
