Transmuting Poison into Nectar
Shivaratri Retreat with Babaji
February 27 – March 2nd, 2014 <> Seattle, Washington
Gathering in February over the auspicious time of Sivaratri, the SRV Associations and its members, students, and initiates will meet to worship the Lord of Wisdom, and to sing and study the “Sivanam Sankirtanam” together. Through recitation, chanting, study, and memorization — i.e., svadhyaya — the truths of religion and philosophy get imprinted in both the subtle and causal memory, leaving a beneficial atmosphere there. At this retreat, a hands-on participation in both chanting, finding, and contemplating the meaning of Sanskrit words and slokas will form the emphasis.
“A tiger skin around His handsome body, His cosmic dance astounds His legions. Transported,
they watch as writhing snakes and disheveled hair swirl around a graceful neck garlanded with skulls. Light
from the crescent moon on His brow enhances the enthralling scene.” – Tulsidas
