We consider publishing a sacred responsibility. Swami Vivekananda stated that Westerners should teach Westerners the Vedanta. 115 years have passed since he gave the West its first authentic transmission of Vedanta and Yoga. This intervening period has witnessed the gradual development in the numbers and depth of Western individuals who have assimilated these teachings and received the grace to transmit them authentically to others via the indispensable twin modes of essence and scripture. Babaji Bob Kindler is one of these qualified Western teachers whose training is based in the Ramakrishna lineage, which is known for its undeniable purity and comprehensive philosophical perspective.
Our books are funded by donations, which only cover basic printing costs. All writing, editing, proofing, layout and design are done by volunteers. Whatever income is derived from these books is funneled back into SRV's various services and projects. We distribute them freely to our prison students, low income students, and centers in the U.S. and India.
