In 2013, millions of devotees, students, and admirers around the world will celebrate the birth of Swami Vivekananda, who injected the liberating wisdom of Advaita Vedanta into western society at the turn of the last century. SRV students will have an opportunity to honor the great Swami by delving deeply into the message and teachings he delivered that altered the course of thinking humanity. Join Babaji Bob Kindler as he presents many profound aspects of Vivekananda: The great soul that Sri Ramakrishna brought for the good of the world and who sat at the Great Master’s feet as a young man; as Swami Vivekananda, the World Teacher dispensing the knowledge of absolute Unity; and as Guru, brother-disciple, and friend to those who knew him.
As a special facet of this retreat, Babaji will focus on a cherished and essential teaching of Swamiji’s: qualification of the spiritual aspirant. For, the obvious lack of spiritual success among western practitioners of the dharma is due to both lack and miscomprehension of the prerequisites of the spiritual path. Emphasis will be laid upon providing the retreatant with a deeper and more profound grounding in the (crucial, fundamental, vital) teachings, thereby opening the way to a more comprehensive understanding. A natural and more balanced life, earthly and spiritual, will be the result.
