A Seva & Sadhana Summer!

A Seva & Sadhana Summer!

seva01seva02Many thanks to all those who took up seva projects this summer at the Portland SRV ashram.  After three years at this location, it was time to do a deep cleaning and sorting.  Appreciation goes to Svabhava and Lavanya for organizing the effort.  On that main Sunday in July, the entire first floor was lovingly cleaned and polished from floor to ceiling, including the kitchen!  The garage was thoroughly sifted and revamped.  Later in the week, the front porch received the same mindful treatment.

Our visiting students and youth from around the country and beyond – Tadrupa (WY), Abhinaya (Hungary), Blayne (TX but now OR), and Price (OK) – slept under the stars for most of Babaji’s visit in a kind of temporary monastery made of tents.  They were ever ready to help in a variety of ways: reorganizing the library shelves, helping Jnanasri with the garden, garage, and Goodwill runs, and generally helping to keep the ashram not only ready for the sangha and Babaji’s classes, but also vibrating with the focused energy of sadhana.  Spontaneous classes took place on various occasions when Babaji came downstairs and found the young men at their studies.  Let’s gather again like this next summer (if not sooner)!
