Sunday Class

This class is a continuation of Babaji’s class on the Avyakta Upanisad that introduced three special Suktams (Hymns of Praise) from the Vedas: The Nasadiya Suktam, The Hiranyagarbha Suktam, and The Purusha Suktam.  The first Suktam expresses in awe-filled terms the Inexpressible Reality that underlies the causal, celestial, and physical realms.  The Hiranyagarbha Suktam describes and praises that shining, peace-filled Cosmic Mind that sets all manifestation into evolutionary expression via the power of dynamic Intelligence, often called Shakti.   Both the Nasadiya and Hiranyagarbha Suktams were explored during the Avyakta Upanisad class.  In this next class, Babaji Bob Kindler takes up the famous Purusha Suktam, in praise of the Divine Cosmic Person, the Purusha, who guides the universe and its living beings.

These three suktas are traditionally singled out as a triputi (threesome).   We are offering this study because of their correlation with India’s triputis, such as: the 3 stages of philosophy (Vedantamarga), the 3 states of awareness (Avasthatraya) and mainly, the 3 Great Modes of Formlessness, formless form, and form, i.e., the supremely Unmanifested, the unmanifested, and the manifested — as used by Sri Krishna in the Gita.
