Integrating the Four Classic Yogas in Daily Life

A complete and in-depth explanation of the Four Yogas will be the main topic of SRV’s in-house seminar this coming winter.  Exploring the four yogas independently to begin, the art of integration, as accomplished by some of the world’s most adept yogis, will be explored, with an emphasis on applying these teachings to contemporary times, and especially our everyday lives.

 

Recommended reading: Swami Vivekananda’s four yoga books: Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Jnana Yoga, and Raja Yoga; Bhagavad Gita; The Four Yogas, by Swami Adiswarananda.

Location/Setting:
Our first weekend seminar will be held at the Portland SRV Ashram in Oregon.

Schedule:

  • Saturday, March 6
    • 6:00am – Meditation and chanting of the Gita
    • 8:00am – Breakfast
    • 9:30am – Morning Class
    • 1:00pm – Lunch
    • 3:00pm – Afternoon Class
    • 6:00pm – SRV Puja & Meditation
    • 7:00pm – Dinner
    • 8:00pm – End of first day
  • Sunday, March 7
    • 6:00am – Meditation and chanting of the Gita
    • 8:00am – Breakfast
    • 9:30am – Morning Class
    • 1:00pm – Lunch
    • 3:00pm – Afternoon Class
    • 5:00pm – Seminar ends

  • $150 plus meals
  • $75 plus meals – low income/student rate

Meals:

  • Vegetarian with eggs and dairy.  Contact us about food allergies.
  • Cost: Not to exceed $40.  Meals will be provided so that we may all eat together and not leave the retreat atmosphere.  This part can be paid during the retreat.

Cancellations: $40 non-refundable fee after February 28.
