SRV’s Autumn Kundalini Yoga Retreat

BuckhornBuckhorn Springs, Ashland, Oregon
Thursday, October 7 to
Monday, October 11

On the heels of our acclaimed Mother Kali Retreat of 2009, SRV’s staff and Spiritual Director are presenting a fitting follow-up and testament to the inmost path of Mother Wisdom by focusing in on the Mahashakti and Her superlative teachings on Kundalini Yoga.  This path will be approached appropriately, not from the stance of physically-based exercises, breathing, and graphs of nerves and pranic flow, but primarily from the standpoint of how Sri Ramakrishna saw and experienced it.  Esoteric teachings, seldom offered or explored, will be presented by Babaji in the spirit of revelation and direct spiritual experience.

Buckhorn Springs, located near Ashland, Oregon, is a beautiful retreat center with forest, pasture, trails, running stream, naturally carbonated mineral springs, and accommodations that are a perfect balance between comfort and early 1900’s simplicity. Not enough can be said about how wonderful this setting, the food, and our hosts are.  It is peaceful and well-removed from the distractions of city and communications.  Everyone who attended last year’s Mother Kali retreat unanimously agreed that the comparatively higher cost of Buckhorn Springs was well worth it.

Recommended Readings:
The subtle Tantric systems that Babaji teaches are gleaned from a number of esoteric texts, examined in the light of Sri Ramakrishna’s life, and coalesced through Babaji’s many years of study and personal practice. The result is that for now, until Babaji writes a book on Tantra, the best way to prepare for this retreat is to steep ourselves in the life and teachings of Sri Ramakrishna. Therefore, select among the following books:
Ramakrishna and His Divine Play (aka Sri Ramakrishna, the Great Master);  Great Swan, Meetings with Ramakrishna, by Lex Hixon, Mother of the Universe, by Lex Hixon, Twenty-Four Aspects of Mother Kali, by Babaji Bob Kindler; An Extensive Anthology of Sri Ramakrishna’s Stories, by Babaji Bob Kindler.
